Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about Invoicr.
How does bank-to-bank payment work?
When your customer receives your invoice link, they tap "Pay" and their banking app opens with the payment pre-filled. The money goes directly from their account to yours — no card reader, no PCI compliance, no card network fees. Powered by GoCardless Instant Bank Pay (FCA-regulated).
What does it cost me to get paid?
1% + 20p per payment, capped at £4.00. On a £500 invoice that's £4.00 — versus ~£12.50 on a typical card processor (2.5%). You keep the difference.
How do I set up GoCardless on my account?
Go to Settings → Payment Settings in the app and tap "Connect GoCardless". You'll be guided through a short identity verification (required by FCA regulations). It takes about 5 minutes. Once connected, your invoices will include a bank-to-bank payment link automatically.
Can I send invoices without a GoCardless account?
Yes. You can create and send invoices by SMS, email, or WhatsApp without connecting GoCardless. Your customer will see the invoice details but won't have the one-tap bank payment option — they'll need to transfer manually.
Does Invoicr handle CIS deductions?
Yes. When creating an invoice, you can enable CIS and enter the deduction rate (usually 20% or 30%). Invoicr calculates the net payment automatically and shows both gross and net figures on the invoice.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On iOS, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Invoicr and cancel there. Apple handles all billing — we can't cancel on your behalf. Cancelling keeps you on your paid tier until the end of the billing period, then reverts to Free.
